History

The Police Medal (Tamgha Polis) was instituted by Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Abbasi V. The Silver Medal is awarded to members of the Bahawalpur State Police in recognition of bravery and distinguished service.

The obverse features a Persian inscription which translates to "By the Grace of God Sadiq Muhammed Abbasi V Ruler of God Gifted Kingdom of Bahawalpur" and the reverse features the Persian script "Tamgha Polis" which translates to "Police Medal."

There is thought to be an additional version of the Medal which varies by design, but additional research is necessary to confirm.
