India


The Republic of India is a country in South Asia. It is surrounded by Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar and also bounded by the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. India is the seventh largest country in the world. It is also the second most populated country in the world, being home to over 1.3 billion people. The country has 28 states and 7 territories. The capital city is New Delhi. The two official languages of the country are Hindi and English.

India is also one of the largest democracies in the world. The government is a federal parliamentary constitutional republic. They have a President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the House and Chief Justice. The army is the third largest in the world, and they were ranked the seventh best army in the world.
