History

The Rajamitra Decoration, or "Friend of his Highness" title badge was founded by Maharaja Sayajirao III in 1922 as the one out of three title decorations. The Rajamitra Decoration ranks below the Rajavallabha decoration and is known to have been conferred in recognition of service to trade and industry, but other services may also have been eligible for the award. The Decoration was made obsolete in 1956.

The Rajamitra Decoration is worn from a neck ribbon and is adorned with pearls.

There may be an additional version of the Decoration which varies by design which was instituted following Sir Pratap Singh's accession to the throne.
