The Golden Jubilee Medal was instituted by Maharaja Sayajirao III in 1926 to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of his accession to the throne. The Medal was awarded in 3 Grades.

The I Class is composed of Gold and was reserved for royal members of the Gaekwad house.

The obverse features an English inscription and the Sayaji Rao Gaekwar's monogram, "SRG", while the reverse features the Devanagari inscription "SHRIMANTA RAJYAPITA SHRI SAYAJI RAO GAYEKWAD MAHARAJA SAHEBANO SURVARNA MAHOTSAVA 1926" which translates to "His Highness, Father of the State, SRG's Golden Jubilee Celebrations 1926."
