The Camp Chakloud Medal was instituted by Sikander Sultan Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum Sahiba in 1904. Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum Sahiba ruled as the Begum of Bhopal between 1901 and 1926. During her reign, Nawab Begum brought forth progressive reforms to the fields of Bhopal's education, taxation, military, police, judiciary and jail. The Medal was awarded to Officers and other enlisted personnel of Sultan Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum Sahiba's personal escort who served and defended her camp and caravan from an attack by Beduin tribesmen during her pilgrimage to Medina in 1903.

The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Camp Chakloud" and the reverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Grant Most Dignified Sikander Sulat Commander of Sovereign Bhopal."
