History

The Badge of Valour was instituted by Maharaja Sadul Singh in 1945. The Decoration was awarded to members of the Bikaner State Forces in recognition of exceptional acts of gallantry. Between the awards institution date and 1949, only 3 awards of the Badge of Valour are known to have been made to Bijey Battery personnel.

A silver rosette is authorized for wear on the Medal ribbon to denote subsequent awards of the Badge of Valour. However, it is uncertain if any second awards have been made.
