History

The Long Service Medal was instituted by Maharaja Sadul Singh in 1944. The Medal may also be known as the Ran Soon Jagvallabha Medal and was awarded in 2 Classes to members of the Bikaner State Army and Bikaner Police Force for long service. Acts of bravery and good conduct may also have been eligible for the award.

Non-Commissioned Officers and other military or police personnel below the rank of Officer were eligible for the II Class Medal.

The II Class Medal features a Devanagari inscription on the obverse which translates to "His Highness Sadul Singh Bahadur" and the reverse features a Devanagari inscription which translates to "Kingdom of Bikaner." The Medal is suspended from a rectangular clasp which features the inscription "FOR LONG SERVICE" in English on both the obverse and reverse.
