History

The Baroni Medal was believed to have been instituted in 1928 to reward acts of gallantry. The Medal is known to have been awarded to a British subject, Khan Sahib Naqi Mohammed Khan in recognition of gallant and service in capturing an outlaw. Only 2 examples of the Medal have been seen.

There are known to be 2 versions of the Medal which are distinguished by the date inscription. One version is known to feature the date "1927" and another is known to feature the date "1928." There may be additional versions of the Medal, but subsequent research is necessary.
