History

The Accession Medal was instituted by Maharaja Shri Vijaydevji Rana Raja Saheb in commemoration of his accession to the throne. The Medal was issued in 2 Classes. The date of institution of the award is unknown.

The II Class is composed of silver.

There are 2 versions of the II Class Silver Medal which are distinguished by the obverse design of the effigy of Maharaja Shri Vijaydevji Rana Raja Saheb. The first version features the Maharaja's bust facing left while the second version features a left facing bust of the Maharaja. The purpose for the variations in the design of the Medal is uncertain.

A copper version, or III Class, may exist of the Medal, but as a result of a lack of information, this is unable to be verified.
