This medal was established by Maharaja Shri Hanwant Singhji in commemoration of his coronation on June 21, 1947.

The obverse Devanagari inscription translates to "His Highness Hanwant Singh / Jodhpur". The reverse Devanagari inscription translates to "Coronation" and it is dated "21 June 1947".
