This medal was established by Maharaja Shri Umaid Singhji. It was conferred upon military personnel in recognition of service with the Jodhpur Imperial Service Troops during WWI.

The Silver Medal was awarded to Officers who served on the Western Front and the Middle East.

The obverse Sanskrit inscription translates to "The Rathore - Invincible in Battle".
