This medal was conferred in commemoration the diamond jubilee of the reign of Maharaja Jagatjit Singh.

The reverse Urdu inscription translates to "Blessings of God", and it features the beginning of the Sikh prayer "Ek Onkar" (God is One) in Gurmukhi. The reverse also features a Persian inscription, which translates to "Diamond Jubilee" and "Maharaja Jagatjit Singh Ruler of Kapurthala State", and is dated "1937" and "1994" (the Samvat era equivalent).
