Physical Description and Item Details


In silver gilt, consisting of an eight-pointed faceted star with superposed enameled yellow, white, blue, and red insignia of the order also in silver gilt, reverse with vertical pin assembly flanked by two stays on each side, exhibiting central Japanese characters standing for “Order of Merit Decoration”, vertical pinback flanked by dual stays.

History


This Order was established by Emperor Kang Teh of Manchuria. It is considered the exact equivalent to the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun.

This Order is also known as the Order of the Prosperous Cloud.

The reverse Japanese characters translate to "Order of Merit Decoration".
