Manchukuo

Manchukuo was a Japanese puppet state in Manchuria and eastern Inner Mongolia. The puppet state existed from 1932 until 1945. The capital of Manchukuo was Hsinking and after that was the capital city Tonghua.

It was founded as a republic, but in 1934 it became a constitutional monarchy. It was created, because Japan wanted to occupy Manchuria's rich natural resources but did not wish to declare war on China yet. Most nations in the world did not recognize Manchukuo as a country. On August 8, 1945 Manchukuo was occupied by Soviet troops in Operation August Storm and returned in 1946 according to the Allied war aims to the Republic of China.

The Grand Order of the Orchid Blossom was the highest title and was established by Emperor Kang Teh of Manchuria on the day of his accession to the throne.
