Of fine Austrian manufacture, consisting of an eight arms star, each arm composed of six individual smooth armed rays, separately affixed red enamel star on 12 o'clock arm, obverse centre presenting three silver crescent moons on a red enameled spiral patterned background, white enamel surround with silver script, reverse with pin assembly, pin maker marked C.F.ROTHE, WIEN, and Austrian silver hallmark "A" "A", reverse back plate marked FR denoting Rothe manufacture, as well as Austrian silver hallmark "3 Dog Head A" denoting .800 silver fineness used between 1867-1922, and Wien city mark.
Known in Malay as "Seri Paduka Mahkota Johor", this Order was instituted by Sultan Abu Bakar. It is awarded for loyalty, diligence, and meticulous service amongst military personnel, civil servants and benefactors of the state, both Malaysian and foreign. The motto of the order is Kapada Allah Berserah, meaning Unto God Resigned.
The I Class is the Grand Commander ("Dato Sri Paduka") is restricted to 16 individuals. The II Class Commander ("Dato Paduka") is restricted to 24 individuals. The Companion ("Stia") is restricted to 32 individuals.
Until 1960, J.W Benson Ltd. of London manufactured all Johore's insignia.
The Knight Grand Commander Breast Star is composed of silver. The design shows five flame-like rays with gold crescents and stars between the rays. The central medallion bears the motto of the order and consists of a white field with a crown, the name of the Prophet and the crescent and star in the center. Around the medallion is a blue garter.
