Physical Description and Item Details

A Burmese Order of the Star of the Revolution - Measuring 58 mm x 60 mm, this order is made of silver, gilt, and enamels, featuring crisp detail and vibrant colors. The center of the order has a peacock with the inscription "Independence" below, plus a horizontal pin back on the reverse. With a nice patina, in very fine condition.


This Order was conferred upon individuals in recognition of service in military and civil struggles associated with obtaining independence.

The III Class Star was awarded for participation in any one period:

1) January 8, 1942 - July 26, 1942
2) July 27, 1942 - March 26, 1945
3) March 27, 1945 - August 15, 1945

This Order was last awarded on November 24, 1986.

The obverse features Burmese script.
