Physical Description and Item Details


In silver gilt with red, white, orange, green and blue enamels, measuring 32 mm (w) x 58.5 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, crazing and chipping evident in the white enamels on the elephant and in the red enamels on the bar below the elephant's feet, the floral enamels intact, scattered gilt wear, original ribbon, fine.

History


The Order was created by King Mongkut, and may be conferred upon national and foreign citizens for extraordinary civil and military service to the Kingdom of Thailand. The Orders may be awarded to both men (Knight) and women (Dame).

There is a discrepancy in size between the Order grades awarded to men versus those awarded to women.
