The Medal of the Graceful Homeland (Medalha A Pátria Agradecida) was established by the General Courts of Portugal in 1808, to reward the national hero Luís do Rego Barreto who organized the 4th Caçador Battalion of Beira having participated with him in the 1808-1811 campaigns.
It was authorized an unique grade made of Gold and Diamonds, but its current location is unknown.
