History


The Portuguese Red Cross Dedication Medal is awarded to individuals or groups who have made exceptional and continuous contributions to the Portuguese Red Cross that have clearly exceeded the normal service expectations.

There are two versions of the Gold Medal that differ in inscription. The first features the former motto of the International Committee of the Red Cross, which translates to "In War, Charity." The second version does not have an inscription.
