A rectangular bar constructed of blackened iron, thread, and cloth. The frame of the bar is of blackened iron, with the inside embroidered with the inscription "F.W.L.". Weighing 5 grams.

History


The Infantry Reserve Long Service Bar (1877-1913) was founded by Grand Duke Friedrich I. It was conferred upon reserve Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Men to recognize exceptional service within a campaign, or for serving on active duty for a minimum of 3 months.

The bar was the original form of the decoration.
