Physical Description and Item Details


A circular medal constructed of bronze gilt. The obverse bears the bust of Crown Prince Rupprecht with the inscription "RVPRECHT MCMXXV". The reverse bears the coat of arms of Bavaria with foliage on both sides. With a loop for suspension, on a white ribbon with light blue stripes.

History


The Rupprecht Medal was established by Crown Prince Rupprecht on May 18, 1925. The medal was awarded in recognition of services rendered to the patriotic idea. It was conferred upon individuals who were close to the Crown Prince.

There are only 12 Medals of pure gold, as they were accidentally produced by the Munich Mint.
