History

The Campaign Medal, 1808-1815 was founded by Prince Georg Wilhelm and was conferred upon all officers and soldiers who demonstrated loyalty and bravery during the 1808-1815 campaigns.

In 1808, one company from Lippe-Schaumburg was sent to participate in the war between Napoleonic France and Spain. In 1812, two companies were sent to participate in the campaign against Russia. Due to the small number of companies, there were only a small number of men who were entitled to receive the medal and as such, it is very rare.
