History


The Commemorative Austrian War Medal was instituted by Duke Adolf in Bavaria on August 20th, 1866. It was conferred upon the officers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted men, and non-combat personnel of the Nassau military who fought with Austria against Prussia, and ultimately fled to Bavaria with the Duke.
