Civil Honour Cross, Senior Line, IV Class Silver Cross (1912-1918)

The Cross was instituted by Prince Heinrich XX (Senior Line) and was conferred in recognition of exceptional long-term service within a field of labour or in a civil service position.
In 1902, the name of the Cross was changed to the "Merit Cross."
The Senior Line crosses were worn on a dark blue ribbon, two large red stripes along each exterior edge.
In 1902, one section of the two-part III Class Silver Cross was retired and was introduced as the IV Class in 1912.
