The decoration was conferred upon soldiers holding the rank of Sergeant and below who rendered 10, 15, or 20 years of loyal service. Alongside the award, each recipient was given an award document.

The II Class Bar for 10 Years was conferred upon military personnel in the active and reserve force who rendered 10 years of irreproachable service. The II Class Bar was also conferred upon members of the police force for 10 years of service.

The obverse of the bar features the initials "GA" flanked by oak leaves.
