A round silver medal; the obverse depicting the rightward-facing bust of King Karl, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed “Zum 25 Jährigen Regierungsjubiläum 25. Juni 1864-1889”; on a loop for suspension; measuring 30.39 mm in diameter; weighing 15.3 grams; in overall better than very fine condition.

History


The Commemorative Medal for 25 Years of Reign was founded on June 1, 1889 to commemorate the 25th year of King Karl of Württemberg's reign. It was conferred upon the guests of the commemorative celebration, such as officers, court and state officials, and court employees.

The Silver Medal was reserved for medium to high-ranking recipients.
