Medal for Zeal. Silver. 29 mm. Young bust of Alexander II left / Legend: за усерліе - For Zeal. Chep 525, Sm 559, Ver 127. On ribbon.
This medal was awarded to citizens of the Russian Empire for "showing zeal towards the state in civilian and military sectors".
The 1863 issue features the Tsar facing right.
The obverse of this medal translates to "ALEXANDER II BY THE GRACE OF GOD EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIAS" and the reverse translates to "FOR ZEAL".
