Award Medal for Zealous Service. GOLD. 50.5 mm. 71.63 gm. By V. Alexseev.Bit 732A (R4) Diakov--. Nicholas I head right, clean-shaven, hair in waves at top,B. AΛEKCЪEB on truncation / ЗA УCEPДHУЮ CΛУЖБУ within circle of 8bands. Neatly fitted loop. Apparently a Novodel. Extremely rare.

This medal was awarded to citizens of the Russian Empire for "zealous service towards the state."

The obverse of this medal translates to "BY THE GRACE OF GOD NICHOLAS I EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIAS" and the reverse translates to "FOR ZEALOUS SERVICE."
