History

The Motorcycle Coat was introduced on November 12, 1934 and was worn by all ranks. It is a double breasted coat made of waterproof rubberized field-grey-green material.

The coat has a woollen field-grey collar and two large front pockets, one on each side. There are two buttons each on the right and left panel on the upper chest. The cuffs have two buttons as well. There is one inside pocket without a flap on the right side of the chest and two buttoned down inside slant pockets with flaps at the waist.
When seated, the coat would be wrapped around the individual legs and secured by two buttons on each side.

The Tropical version of this coat is tan or sand-coloured and was usually made from heavy cotton drill.
