Constructed on silvered bronze; horizontal backpin; marked “RZM” (Reichszeugmeisterei) with maker “M1/15” (Ferdinand Hofstätter, Bonn am Rhein) on reverse; measuring 22 mm (w) x 15 mm (h); in overall extremely fine condition.
The Young Girl's Proficiency Clasp was conferred upon members of the Jungmädel, a youth organisation for girls age 10-14, for proficiency in physical fitness, home craft, and Nazi ideology. To receive this award, a girl had to pass a variety of test within the span of 12 months. The tests focused on nursing, first aid, Nazi ideology, and physical fitness.
The reverse of each clasp is numbered.
