History

The Schleswig-Holstein Commemorative Campaign Medal was founded in June 17, 1891 by Prince Albert of Prussia, who was acting as Regent of Brunswick. Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, doctors, civil servants and Enlisted Men were eligible to receive the award. Individuals had to apply for the medals. The medal was designed by Carl Peterson, Braunschweig.
