History


This Award was founded by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August and was conferred upon military personnel with a rank below Officer who had rendered faithful service for many years.

The first batch of II Class Clasps was awarded from 1848 until 1867, and they were primarily composed of Silver gilt.

The second batch of II Class Clasps was awarded from 1912 until 1913 and was primarily conferred upon Gendarmes and Dragoons. These clasps were composed of Bronze gilt.
