Physical Description and Item Details


Constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Nikolaus Friedrich Peter, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST UM DIE KUNST” (“FOR MERIT IN THE ARTS”), unmarked, measuring 29.62 mm in diameter, weighing 11.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
