In bronze, obverse illustrating the obverse side of the Medal for the War of 1853-1856 in the centre, with the crowned conjoined cyphers of Tsar Nicholas I and Tsar Alexander II surmounted by the all-seeing eye with emanating rays, above the dates "1853-1854-1855-1856", with rays emanating from the medal itself, the four arms of the cross ornately decorated, reverse illustrating the reverse side of the Medal for the War of 1853-1856 with the inscription in Russian "We Have Set Our Hopes in Thee O Lord, Let Us Never Be Ashamed", measuring 58.5 mm (w) x 101.3 mm (h), green oxidation, contact marks, surface wear, fine.
This medal was instituted during the reign of Alexander II. It was conferred upon the clergy in recognition of assistance during the Crimean War.
The obverse is dated.
