This medal was created by Catherine the Great to commemorate the signing of the treaty between Russia and the Ottoman Empire.
It was awarded to enlisted men of the Southern Army on active duty on the day the Peace Treaty was signed.
The reverse inscription translates to: "To the Victor", and "Peace Concluded with the Porte 10 July 1774".
