Award Medal to Participants of the Russian Victory at Kunensdorf. 1759. Silver. By T. Ivanov. 44 mm. Bit 273.A (R), Chep 62, Diakov 105.1 (R2), Reichel 2136 (R2), Sm 241/a, Wehrlich 46. Crowned and mantled bust of Elizabeth r. wearing Order, signed TIMOΘEÉ.Ï.F/ Classically-attired warrior standing r., bearing Russian banner and spear, amid battlefield, initials T.I above exergue at left.

History


This medal was created by Empress Elizabeth I in commemoration of the victory of the Russian and Austrian forces against Prussia in 1759.

It was conferred upon officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted men who participated in the battle.

The obverse inscription translates to: "By the Grace of God Empress Elizabeth I Empress and Autocrat of All Russias." The reverse inscription translates to: "To the Victor," and "Over the Prussians 1 August 1759".
