This medal was conferred upon veterans who fought in the Great Patriotic War, guerrillas, members of the Underground, and underage individuals imprisoned in concentration camps. It was discontinued on September 7, 2010.

The obverse is dated "1945-2005". The reverse Russian inscription translates to: "60 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945".
