History

The 70 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR Medal was established on January 28, 1988. This medal was conferred upon all ranks of the Armed Forces, Ministry of Preserving Public Order, and the Committee for State Security. Approximately 9,300,000
were awarded.

This medal is composed of brass and measures 32mm. The ring is made as a part of the medal. The obverse sows a soviet soldier, a sailor and an airman side by side facing left.

The obverse is dated 1918-1988. The reverse Russian inscription translates to: "Seventy Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR".
