History
The Irreproachable Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR Medals awarded by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (MVD) and the Ministry for the Protection of Social Order of the USSR (MOOP) were established in 1958. The I Class medals were awarded for 20 years of service.
The Type III medals were awarded from August 8, 1962 to August 12, 1966. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) changed its name to the Ministry for the Protection of Social Order (MOOP) in 1962. These medals have the Cyrillic letters for MOOP and an abbreviation for one of the USSR's fifteen republics at 6 o'clock. The abbreviations would stand for one of the following: Russian SFSR; Ukrainian SSR; Belarus SSR; Moldovan SSR; Lithuanian SSR; Latvian SSR; Estonian SSR; Georgian SSR; Armenian SSR; Azerbaijan SSR; Turkmenistan SSR; Uzbekistan SSR; Kazakhstan SSR; Kyrgyzstan SSR; Tajikistan SSR.
The I Class medal is composed of silver with a star and hammer and sickle in red enamel.
