History
The Irreproachable Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR Medals awarded by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR (MVD) and the Ministry for the Protection of Social Order of the USSR (MOOP) were established in 1958. The II Class medals were awarded for 10 years of service.
The Type III medals were awarded from August 8, 1962 to August 12, 1966. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) changed its name to the Ministry for the Protection of Social Order (MOOP) in 1962. These medals have the Cyrillic letters for MOOP and an abbreviation for one of the USSR's fifteen republics at 6 o'clock. The abbreviations would stand for one of the following: Russian SFSR; Ukrainian SSR; Belarus SSR; Moldovan SSR; Latvian SSR; Lithuanian SSR; Estonian SSR; Georgian SSR; Armenian SSR; Azerbaijan SSR; Turkmenistan SSR; Uzbekistan SSR; Kazakhstan SSR; Kyrgyzstan SSR; Tajikistan SSR. An award from the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic would be written as MOOP LIT. SRR.
The III Class medal is composed of gold-plated brass.
The inscription on the reverse translates to "For 15 Years of Irreproachable Service".
