The Construction of the Baikal-Amur Railroad Medal was established on October 8 1976. This medal was conferred in recognition of assistance in the construction of the Baikal-Amur Railroad. It was awarded over 40,000 times.

The medal is composed of brass and measures 32mm in diameter. The ring at 12 o'clock is made as a part of the medal. The Obverse presents a man wearing a hard hat and a woman beside each other, facing left. There is a train going over a bridge and mountains behind the bridge.

The obverse Russian inscription translates to: "For Construction of the Baikal-Amur Railroad". The reverse features the acronym for the Baikal-Amur Railroad.
