Physical Description and Item Details

In silver, measuring 36.5 mm in diameter, original ribbon suspended from an ornate hanger with pinback, tiny edge nicks, near extremely fine.

History

The Civil Long Service Medal (Khidmaat Husna) was originally established by Nawab Muhammad Bahwal Khan V Abbasi in 1904. The Medal was created to reward civil servants and state civil employees for long service. The award is believed to have been modified by Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi in 1924 and again in 1936.

The obverse features an inscription which translates to "By the Grace of God Sadiq Mohammad Abbasi V ruler of God Gifted Kingdom of Bahawalpur" and the reverse features an inscription which translates to "Long Service."

Multiple versions of the Medal which vary by design and composition are expected to exist, however, additional research is necessary to verify the design. The Medal feature here is thought to be an early version.
