History


The Golden Jubilee Medal 1937 was instituted by Maharaja Ganga Singh in 1937 in commemoration of 50 years of Maharaj Ganga Singh's reign. The Medal was issued in 2 Grades. The Gold Medal was presented to members of the ruling family while the Silver Medal was presented to chiefs, nobles, first-class civil servants, and all ranks of the State Forces. British foreigners may also have been eligible for the award.

Approximately 2000 Silver Medals were awarded.

The obverse features a Devanagari inscription which translates to "King of Kings His Highness Ganga Singh Bahadur" and the reverse translates to "Kingdom of Bikaner 1944 (1887 A.D.) Golden Jubilee 1994 (1937 A.D.)."
