The Long Service Medal was instituted by Maharaja Sadul Singh in 1944. The Medal may also be known as the Ran Soon Jagvallabha Medal and was awarded in 2 Classes to members of the Bikaner State Army and Bikaner Police Force for long service. Acts of bravery and good conduct may also have been eligible for the award.

The I Class Decoration was reserved for the Maharaja's Commissioned and State Commissioned Officers. Only 23 awards of the I Class Decoration to known to have been made.

The obverse features a Devanagari inscription which translates to "Brave in Battle and Beloved of the World."

There may be additional versions of the I Class Decoration which vary by composition.
