History

This Order was established by Maharaja Sri Sir Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. It was conferred upon military personnel in recognition of distinguished and meritorious service.

This Order is also known under the general title of the Gandabherunda Order. It became obsolete on January 26, 1950.
