Physical Description and Item Details


(เครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์อันมีเกียรติยศยิ่งมงกุฎไทย). Instituted in 1869. Second Period 1873-1941. In silver gilt, consisting of an enameled green and red flower petals, obverse exhibiting Royal monogram iconography, reverse depicting typical of this order embossed Thai characters, suspended by an impressive ornament petals in silver gilt, measuring 49.48 mm (w) x 77.44 mm (h - inclusive of suspension), with enamel loss, very fine.

History


The Order is awarded for extraordinary service to Thailand, and it is conferred upon national and foreign citizens, members of the Royal Family, government employees, and foreign dignitaries.

The Order of the Crown of Thailand is awarded to those who are not qualified for the Order of the White Elephant.

The Order may be awarded to both men (Knight) and women (Dame), with a bow ribbon distinguishing the Dame awards.

There may be a discrepancy in size between the Order grades awarded to men versus those awarded to women.
