Medal for the 250th Anniversary of Leningrad (brass, 32 mm). Original ribbons, each is mounted to its own five-sided aluminum suspension with pinback, oxidation evident on the latter medal, near extremely fine and near very fine, respectively.
The Commemoration of 250 Years of Leningrad Medal was established on May 16, 1957. This medal was conferred upon citizens and workers who lived in Leningrad during its 250th anniversary. More than 1,430,000 were awarded.
This medal is composed of brass and measures 32mm in diameter. The 12 o'clock ring is made as a part of the medal. The obverse shows Lenin in the center and the skyline in Leningrad in the background.
The obverse Russian inscription translates to: "In the Commemoration of 250 Years of Leningrad". The reverse Russian inscription translates to: "Glory to the Hero City".
