Sultanate of Kedah
Kedah is located in the extreme North West of the federation, bordering Thailand. The state is 3,660 square miles and a population of 2 million people.
In May 1951, "The State Decoration Committee" was set up. They instituted one Order and ten Decorations in Kedah on October 30, 1952. The designs of these orders and decorations were completed by Mohammed Ismail bin Ibrahim and Mohammed Ismail bin Mohammed Zain, teachers at the Sultan Abdul Hamid College, Alor Star.
